Celebration of the life of Marcia Baldon

A recording of the service held for Marcia Baldon on December 29th, 2022, presided over by Pastor Rod Carlson.

 

OBITUARY

Marcia Baldon of Windsor, Colorado, formerly of Mesquite, TX, passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 23, 2022. She was born Marcia May Songer to Paul V Songer Sr. and Savilla Calkins Songer of Briggsdale, CO on May 1, 1926.

 

Marcia graduated from Colorado A&M, now CSU, and taught four years in Colorado and Nebraska. She had a very full life, working with children for much of it in Sunday School, Good News Club, Child Evangelism Fellowship and taught adults to present stories from the Bible to children at Southern Bible Training Institute. She enjoyed children, reading, sewing and tatting. She spent much of her time reading her Bible and figuring how it applied to her daily life.

 

Marcia was married to Donald Lee Baldon on August 7, 1949 and their marriage continued until his death on May 11, 2006. Marcia and Don had 6 children, 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, with another on the way.

 

Mrs. Baldon was survived by her children, Rex (Shayla) of Irvine, CA, Robbin of Windsor, CO, Paul (Suzanne) of Waco, TX, Rhoda (Brad) Yost, of Blytheville, AR, Michelle (Thom) Johnson of Windsor, CO, Timothy (Evelyn) of Orlando, FL, Grandchildren Timothy (Alicia) Yost, Matt (Joy) Baldon, Chris (Krizia) Baldon, Kevin Yost, Marie Johnson, Lynda Yost, Timothy Johnson, Alissa (Eric) Axelson, Ethan Yost, Jonathan Baldon, and Hannah (Patrick) Fadgen and her great grandchildren Noah, Esly, Tomas, (Nathaniel) and many nieces and nephews.

 

Marcia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, all four siblings and all her sisters-in-law except Patsy Songer of Texas.

 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 29th, 2022 at Windsor Evangelical Free Church, 700 Pine Dr: Windsor, CO, with viewing preceding at 1:00 p.m.

 

An additional service will be held at Mesquite Bible Church in Mesquite, TX. Interment will be with Don at the Dallas /Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, TX at a later date.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Child Evangelism Fellowship, Mesquite Bible Church in Texas, Windsor Evangelical Free Church, Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Blytheville, AR % Mark's Funeral Services or your favorite charity.
